Requirements to use UGC Search

Note : Before you can use UGC Search to discover customer content, you need to properly connect your Instagram Business account to a Facebook Business page.

Checklist

Before starting, make sure you have:

A Facebook personal account (admin access required)

An active Instagram account that you want to convert to Business

Admin rights to create and manage Facebook pages

Step 1: Create a Facebook Business Page

If you don't have a Facebook Business Page:

1. Go to Facebook and log into your personal account

2. Click here to see all your Facebook pages

3. On the top left click on Create a new profile or Page

4. Choose "Public Page"

5. Fill in your business information:

   • Page name (should match your business/brand name)

   • Category (select the most relevant business category)

   • Description (brief description of your business)

6. Add a profile picture (your logo or brand image)

7. Add a cover photo (branded image, recommended size: 1640 x 859 pixels)

8. Click "Create Page"

If you already have a Facebook Business Page

1. Verify you're an admin

2. Ensure page information is complete - Add business details, contact info, and images

Step 2: Convert Instagram to Business Account

Converting from Personal to Business:

The only way to activate the UGC Search feature is by having an Instagram Business account.

To do this, you need to switch your personal account to a business account.

If you already have Business account:

• Verify your business information is complete and accurate

• Ensure contact details are up to date

• Check that your account is public (private accounts won't work with UGC Search)

Step 3: Connect Instagram Business to Facebook Page

This is the most critical step for UGC Search functionality:

1. Open Facebook.

2. Go to your Facebook Business Page.

3. In the left menu, click Settings → Instagram.

4. Click Connect Account and log into your Instagram Business Account.

5. Double-check that your Page is connected to the right Instagram account (you should see the username displayed).

Verification Checklist

Before proceeding to UGC Search setup, confirm:

Facebook Business Page is created and published

You are the admin of the Facebook page

Instagram account is converted to Business

Instagram is linked to your Facebook page

Both profiles are complete with business information

Instagram account is public (not private)

Contact information matches on both platforms

Business category is set correctly on both platforms

Note : This setup process typically takes 15-30 minutes to complete, but Facebook and Instagram may need up to 24 hours to fully sync the connection. Don't worry if some features aren't immediately available - they should work within a day of completing the setup.
